Tavistock Tutors offer SAT writing tutors in the London area. Writing forms 1/3 of the SAT exam, which itself forms the basis of most US college admissions decisions. It is made up of multiple-choice questions, which focus on sentence and paragraph improvement and error spotting, followed by a brief essay usually on a philosophical topic. It is designed to test a students essay writing skills as well as spelling, grammar, planning and critical thinking. Different students will have strengths and weaknesses in different areas of the SAT. However, with competition for places being so intense a student cannot afford to have a weaker suit. Tavistock Tutors believe that any weakness can become strengths with the right help.
The SAT essay requires a student to develop and support a point of view with appropriate evidence in a good standard of written English, all within 25 minutes. While the rest of the test requires a student to improve either paragraphs or sentences. This means a student needs a good vocabulary, and a clear knowledge of effective sentence and paragraph structure, something which many students struggle with in the era of spell check. Our tutors will be able to pass on to you, little known knowledge about what SAT markers are looking for, to allow you to practise as effectively as possible.Tavistock Tutors usually find a suitable tutor within a few hours.
