My Passion & How I Inspire

I would describe my teaching style in three words: pragmatic, engaging and empowering. I believe examination success is the result of a clear understanding of what’s needed to achieve the top grades in exams, combined with active learning and practice. I consider each student’s learning style, and will work with them to develop their skills and confidence for exams.

I believe it is important to make lessons engaging and take the time to plan sessions so that they are suitably interactive and challenging.

Finally I believe it is important for students to feel empowered by education. I teach students how to learn for themselves, and pursue their individual interests within and beyond the syllabus.

My Experience

I have experience teaching maths in a London primary school, as a voluntary teaching assistant, and also have international experience teaching English in Peru.

Having been rated as best Geography Applicant for Keble College, Oxford in 2009, I have also coached applicants for Oxbridge Geography, focussing on refining personal statements and interview technique.

I am passionate about empowering young people and teaching them skills to develop their ideas. I currently co-run a network called ‘Brightsparks’ that teaches employees entrepreneurial skills, leadership skills, and about sustainable business.
