My Passion & How I Inspire

My teaching philosophy is built on the central principle that learning should be interesting, enriching and fun. This involves awakening my student’s curiosity and learning desire by giving them the freedom to expand and develop ideas on their own. I guide their development with the use of learning tools such as mind maps, flashcards, quizzes and games. I have had great success in helping my students achieve A* and A grades. My ultimate goal is to offer the best possible learning experience so that my students feel confident and happy in their academic life.

My Experience

I have been tutoring for four years now, teaching a wide range of students from the age of four to eighteen years old. I have a lot of experience preparing students for their 7+ & 8+ exams for schools such as St Pauls, Westminster, Latymer and Kings College School. I am very thorough with my teaching, ensuring that absolutely everything is covered before the exam. This includes a solid understanding of how to approach questions related to  Math,  English, Verbal & Non – Verbal Reasoning. I also teach creative writing, GCSE & A Level English Literature and Language. I go over key literary devices for a deeper analysis of literary work. I encourage a discussion of ideas and offer an opportunity for my students to reflect upon their own interpretations in a constructive way. I go over exam technique to make sure they understand how to structure answers logically and coherently. My ultimate goal is to prepare my students with analytic skills so they can deconstruct meaning from text and apply terms, ideas and concepts covered in class so they produce essays that are intelligent and interesting.
