My Approach to Private Tuition

My approach to tuition revolves around two things: clear, manageable targets and enjoyment of learning. I try to help my pupils see the bigger picture and identify their own way of enjoying the subject, whether that be simply improving at something you thought you were bad at or combining different intellectual passions and interests. I myself, however, never lose sight of the bigger picture either. I place a lot of emphasis on past papers and repeatedly targeting recurring weaknesses. In order to maximize one’s chances in an exam, it is essential to know what the examiner wants. Needless to say, there is no substitute for practice. I push all my pupils to try and get the best out of themselves as I have always tried to do in my own academic career.
