My Passion & How I Inspire

Whilst tutoring I would pay particular attention to the needs of each student, and tailor their tutoring sessions to best meet their needs and wishes. My approach to tutoring emphasises clarity, flexibility, and an enthusiasm for learning, within an informal and relaxed yet structured and interactive environment. I use a variety of methods and approaches towards tutoring including working through notes covering key content, in-depth case studies and analysis as well as encouraging debates with students and developing creative revision methods including the use of timelines and mindmaps. I encourage students to think imaginatively and challenge themselves academically, encouraging debate and broadening their horizons. These approaches ensure that the tutee clearly understands the content and technical aspects of their subject as well as allowing them to demonstrate their understanding through a variety of necessary skills. This not only helps to improve a student's examination technique but also their academic development.

In the lead up to the exam period, I can provide intensive revision sessions and/ or revision guides for any of the subjects listed above.

My Experience

I am a fully-funded AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council) History PhD Candidate at King's College London.

I have tutored privately since 2007, delivering lessons for GCSE and I/GCSE (Edexcel, OCR, AQA, Cambridge), AS and A-Level (Edexcel, OCR, AQA, Cambridge) as well as International Baccalaureate exams.

I have also helped a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students with their academic work and assesments, at the University of York, KCL and international universities. I have also helped students with personal statements, university applications and research proposals (Durham, LSE, York, Cambridge, KCL).

I have experience with the 11+, 13+ and sixth form applications and have worked with students preparing for a range of competitive schools (Harris Westminster, Godolphin and Latymer, Alleyn's)
