My Passion & How I Inspire

I am passionate about art and the history of art. I love to look at, read about, discuss, think about and write about art. As an academic discipline it has encouraged me to consider other subjects in a different light. I spend my time in galleries, museums, collections and artistic spaces, communicating with artists, participating in new initiatives, discussions, curating exhibitions and writing. I have travelled extensively and visited many respected museums and artistic destinations. I also have a diverse range of professional experience in the art world including running a commercial art gallery.

Having taught AS and A2 and in my experience as a private tutor since, I have a substantial understanding of History of Art syllabuses, university entry and university level assignments. My objective is to clarify school and university requirements, sharing an understanding of how to succeed in an academic context independently.

My Experience

I have broad experience in teaching and tutoring History of Art over the past 8 years, raising grades and confidence. I am a Gold and Senior tutor with many of London's leading tutoring agencies.

Since 2009 I have taught History of Art A level, assisted students take AS and A2 independently and provided tutoring with a specialism in AQA and experience in the Pre-U syllabus. I have helped students gain History of Art places at Cambridge, The Courtauld Institute, Edinburgh, SOAS, Bristol, York, Goldsmiths, Nottingham, Princeton and Yale among others, as well as supported their university careers and early professional activities. I have worked with a diversity of abilities, with students gaining up to A* in my History of Art classes, 1st class degrees at university and in dissertations, internships and jobs.

I am affiliated with IESA, Middlesex University, Richmond University London, Sotheby’s Institute. I am a public and independent lecturer, study day and tour leader, panel and conference speaker in contemporary art, the art industry and market and art history, including gallery, museum, collection, art fair and studio visits.

The following are examples of five students from the academic years 2015 - 2017:
