My Passion & How I Inspire

Every person is different, and all learn differently. My first task as a tutor is to get to know what the client wants and what they perceive their stumbling blocks to be.  After that, it depends very much on the nature (and age!) client as to where we take the sessions.

My Experience

My tutoring, which has spanned a number of years, falls largely into two groups. Firstly there are those I have helped to attain good A-levels and success at undergraduate level, particularly the Edexcel politics course and politics/international relations degree courses. I have recently helped a student attain a high First in a politics degree from a London university. Secondly, there are those whom I have helped with their school entrance exams. Pupils I have tutored have attained successful entry to some of the most academically competitive selective grammar schools in the country.

My Qualifications

As both a fully-qualified primary school teacher and a fully qualified solicitor, I have an interestingly diverse set of both qualifications and experiences!  Having taught in year 6 for a number of years in an academically successful primary school, I am well-placed to understand the standards demanded by the most selective secondary schools.  My first degree is in politics and law, from Magdalene College, Cambridge, at which I was elected into a scholarship by the Master and Fellows, in recognition of excellent exam results.

Fun fact

I was once marooned by pirates, off the coast of Kenya!
