My Passion & How I Inspire

I am a dynamic, organised tutor with a real passion for working with kids and teenagers. I am patient, flexible, and I love hearing what they have to say.

I adore theatre and film and write and produce plays and films. I use role-play, modern texts, and extracts from films to make my teaching feel current and alive for my students. My knowledge of scriptwriting could also be useful for working with film-obsessed teenagers!

My Experience

I worked as a secondary and primary classroom English teacher in Paris for two years – two very exciting and instructive years. I taught classes for whole school years, preparing students for their BAC as well as for entry to business schools. While living in France I also taught one-to-one and ran small, intensive preparatory courses for English entrance exams. I taught a mixture of literature and language, which I continue to do now that I'm back in the UK, getting students ready for 11+ and GCSE exams.

Having lived and worked in France for six years, I try to transmit my passion for the culture to occasionally disillusioned students of French! I have digested and passed on what I found worked and what didn't to give my students the benefit of my own trials in learning this wonderful language.
