I specialize in teaching History of Art. I only teach this and I want to help students achieve their full academic potential in this subject. I am familiar with AQA and Edexcel syllabuses.
I taught History of Art at the undergraduate level for many years at Kingston University. I specialized in the Early Modern period, giving modules in Renaissance art, architecture and sculpture, as well as in Dutch 17th-century painting. I led study tours to Venice, Florence and Rome, as well as tutoring students with their dissertations on a one-to-one basis.
I have given gallery talks in the London collections, including in the National Gallery and the Victoria and Albert museum and am currently affiliated to the Wallace Collection as a lecturer. I taught English as a foreign language in the Sendagaya Institute, Tokyo, for three years.
I have thoroughly enjoyed a broad exposure to teaching students of all ages and nationalities in a range of art historical subjects.

My Approach to Private Tuition
I think it is very important to tailor tutoring to the specific individual and their needs. I think art history is a fascinating and enriching subject and I would aim for you to be inspired. I want to give you the right tools to perform well in your exams and in your assessments. This would involve developing your skills of visual analysis and helping you to acquire a good understanding of the critical thinking relevant to your subject area. My approach is focused but enjoyable that is very important. I believe strongly in seeing artworks first hand if possible. We are blessed with a wonderful resource of museums and collections in London.
