AS, A-level and Pre-U
I teach AS A-level and Pre-U History of Art and Art. This involves working with AS and A-level students throughout the year, conducting intensive revision lessons for essay structuring and exam technique, and teaching students the subject from scratch at AS and A-level. So far, all my students have been given A or A* grades, and one, who I helped retake her A2 exams, improved her U to an A. I have also worked on art related EPQs including a feminist interpretation of fairytales and the representation of the Renaissance nude. Many of my students go on to study art history, art, graphic design or fashion at university, for which I help with UCAS personal statements and the Common App.
BA and MA
Assisting BA and MA students with coursework, dissertations and exam preparation in Art History, Art and Fashion is a large part of what I do. Most recently I have worked on final year BA dissertations on women artists of the First World War, Deconstructivist architecture, and Man Ray’s representations of sexuality. I also work with students throughout the academic year on essays and assignments for art history, animation and fashion business degrees. All my students have received Firsts or high 2.1s in their finals. This summer I have worked on MA theses on German Romanticism, Brancusi’s studio practice, South African anti apartheid posters and contemporary Japanese art. In addition to a wide range of special subjects, I also help students with art historical methodologies and critical theory, as well as essay and dissertation structuring and writing and exam technique.
Alongside tutoring I lecture and supervise for the undergraduate course on Surrealism at Cambridge.

My Passion And How I Inspire
Fun. I believe that people learn best when they are enjoying themselves so I try to find ways for everyone to be excited by what they are learning – whoever they are and whatever they need to learn. I am absolutely passionate about Art History and I have found my enthusiasm to be infectious.
Growing up in Kenya, I have genuinely almost been eaten by sharks and lions!
