My approach to tutoring is built on the principle of inspiring my students to develop a genuine interest in their subject and a thirst for knowledge, while at the same time helping them to master important skills such as exam technique. My lessons are primarily student-led and tailored to focus on specific areas of weakness, which I target through oral and visual explanations, written notes and practice exam questions. I work hard to create a learning environment that is interesting, enjoyable, engaging and interactive, in order to enable my students to reach their maximum potential and achieve excellent grades in their exams.
I have extensive experience in both teaching and one-on-one tutoring biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics at secondary school level. I have worked with students at all levels (KS3, GCSE and A-Level), and have prepared students for a range of examinations (GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level) across several exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA and Cambridge. I have also provided support to students applying to UK universities. During my gap year, I spent several months working part-time at The Senior School, Nicosia, Cyprus, where I taught mathematics and the sciences. I currently tutor these same subjects online.
