I find the process of teaching very rewarding because you see the student's face light up when they begin grasp challenging concepts and ideas. I enjoy adapting the pace and style of each session to the individual student, quickly identifying gaps in their knowledge, to help them reach their full potential. I believe that past papers and constant practice is key to success, as well as having a fun, positive attitude to the work.
I began tutoring after finishing my A Levels. My school got in touch with me to ask if I would offer private tuition to GCSE maths students for their re-take exams. I loved working with these students one-to-one and we achieved wonderful results.
I am highly experienced with tutoring Mathematics and Physics to students of varying ages and abilities, from primary school to A Level. I have worked with different exam boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and WJEC. During my time tutoring, I have aided students in completing personal statements for UCAS applications and helped students in writing their Extended Project.
Some examples of my tutoring experience:
> Tutored an A Level Physics student to help them take their C grade to an A.
> Taught GCSE Maths re-take students to quickly prepare them for their re-take exams.
> Tutored a woman in her mid-twenties to pass the Level 2 Functional Skills exam.
> Aided and encouraged a Year 6 girl to become more confident in Maths for her Year 6 SAT exams.
> Helped a student with researching and structuring a scientific Extended Project.
