Monica has over five years’ experience working as a private tutor in a variety of roles providing one-to-one tuition to students from seven years to undergraduate level.
This has included one-to-one after-school and weekend tuition; home-schooling to GCSE level; residential placements in the United Kingdom and abroad; and school teaching at GCSE level.
As well as providing intensive, targeted tuition to students approaching entrance examinations for the UK’s top schools, including Eton, Harrow, Rugby, Colet Court, St. Paul’s, City of London, Westminster, Dulwich, Godolphin & Latymer, Francis Holland, Roedean’s, St. Alban’s, Monica has provided school support and structured revision assistance at GCSE and A Level. A fluent French speaker, Monica tutors the language to students of all ages.
After gaining a 2(I) in English Literature from the University of Hull, I sat the Law Finals Examination at the College of Law and qualified as a solicitor.
My Approach to Private Tuition
First and foremost, Monica’s approach to private tuition is targeted. Once the goal is established – whether admittance to a certain school or improvement in a particular subject is required – Monica quickly locates the gaps that need to be plugged and sets out a programme for how they can be filled. Using approachable, yet firm and structured methods, underlined with enthusiasm, Monica sets about addressing any weak areas and encouraging the student to strive for excellence.
