The boy had had a lot of tutors beforehand, which had unfortunately not seen much improvement, but I am happy to say that the residential position seemed to make a real difference to his learning. We were able to spend a lot of time in revisiting basic principles and then developing completely new techniques and approaches to tackle each of his problems one by one.
After the three intensive months were up, I was exhausted and he had his exams to sit: suffice is to say, he received offers from all three schools and is now a happy student at Dulwich College. I couldn’t have been happier. Not only had I been able to visit an incredible new city that I probably wouldn’t have seen had it not been for Tavistock Tutors, but I was able to help a very sweet boy and his family achieve his potential and get into the school of his dreams.
What’s more, during his holidays, I still see the boy to give him a little extra help with French, which he is thinking about for GCSE!
